I have tried everything and I either get a blue screen or the software just doesn't recognize the colorimiter (even though it shows up as installed under the device manager). They also have a set of alternate methods to use which they will not support (due to blue screens), but some people have gotten too work.

Anyways, when I run the software it says that the device is not connected. The one time I did not say yes it just crashes again. Then when I log back in, the computer asks if it should try and fix the problem that caused the crash and if I say yes it avoids the blue screen. So then found the directions on the xrite website to update the driver for the colorimeter (for the vista 64 bit versions), and when I tried that I got the blue screen of death. However, when I tried to install the drivers, it didn't work. I tried installing the Monaco Optix software and it seemed to install okay. I didn't realize that there were these driver problems with older hardware and the 64 bit version of windows. I just got a new windows 7 (64 bit) laptop.
